Welcome to the corner of the web where creativity meets the law. I’m Seun, a seasoned entertainment lawyer with a passion for the arts and a commitment to helping musicians, music companies, actors, scriptwriters, media outfits, and others in the entertainment industry.
As a graduate of the University of Lagos with a bachelor’s degree in law and a master’s degree in Intellectual Property and Competition Law from the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my clients. Called to the Nigerian bar in 2014, I’ve honed my skills as a litigation lawyer in Nigeria and as an IP consultant, working closely with a diverse range of clients in the entertainment industry. My expertise has also taken me to Brussels, Belgium, where I honed my skills while working with a leading IP law firm.
My dedication to entertainment law is evident in the articles and essays I have written and published in numerous respected publications, including the RIDA International copyright review, the African Academic Network on Internet Policy (AANOIP), Punch Newspaper, and The IP Press. In 2021, my essay on the value gap in the digital streaming industry won the prize for the 2020/2021 Association Littéraire Et Artistique Internationale (ALAI) European Authors’ Rights Award.
Named in honor of my late father, Lari Williams MFR – a talented actor, poet, and arts commentator – this site serves as a testament to my passion for the creative and cultural industries. Through my writing, I hope to shed light on the critical intersection of law and the arts, and to offer guidance to those seeking to protect their intellectual property and advance their creative endeavors.
